Wong Mow and sons

STORY

Photo of shirt tailor Wong Mow (seated) a tailor who ran the Modern Silk Shirt Company on Main Street, and his son’s Wah Wong (left) and Git Wong. Mow would work during the day and spend his evenings helping a friend who ran a confectionery store nearby. When the Second Worl War broke out and silk became expensive, Mow switched materials and dropped the word “silk” from the business name. Courtesy of Larry Y. Wong.
