This c.1930 photo was found in the archives of Ming Wo Cookware, a retail business that operated for over 100 years in Vancouver’s Chinatown. There were no markings to indicate the name of this young woman or why her photo ended up at the store. She may have been a travelling opera performer who visited Vancouver. Perhaps Wong Chew Lip, the original owner of Ming Wo, hosted her while she performed in the city.
